Below
is a sample of a complete blood cell count report - CBC.
- The entire blood count is pretty complicated, but remember it
includes all of the formed elements: white blood cells, red blood cells and
platelets.
- For now, we're going to focus on
the top portion, that is the white blood cells and how the populations change under
various conditions.
- Both the numbers of cells, the
percentage of various populations and the
scatter plots give us valuable information.
- We'll start with how the test is
done in the clinical laboratory.
